Quick skirt fix

Hi ladies, hope every one is having a good week so far. I bought this skirt at the thrift store but unfortunately the waistband was torn on the side and the elastic was very old. I fixed the side of the waistband, I replaced the elastic and shortened the skirt about two inches. For winter plaid is a must for me. This is how I wore it to school today.

Hi Shey. I love your blog. I bought a very similar skirt from a thrift store and it needs shortening, however, it's pleated. How do I shorten a pleated skirt? Thanks
