Sunday Best: Refashioned peplum top

Hi ladies! It's been a great week at work, tomorrow is the first day of school, I'm excited about seeing the students again but I'm also nervous about the crying, I hope I don't have many criers. This is what I wore today, I had planned to wear it with my refashioned belt but it didn't match the outfit so I had to improvise and make a sash belt. The top was very easy to make, I used part of the New Look 6003 pattern for the peplum.
Before
 Two old shirts...
 Peplum pattern
 After
Skirt: Anthropologie
Heels & necklace: thrifted

UPDATE: I had a great first day of school, 2 little ones cried a little bit but after a few minutes they calmed down, the rest of the day went pretty smooth. =)

Ooh, this is such a nice way to look chic and ladylike even in this heat... great look! :)

DIY-ing a peplum top seems like a fantastic idea, I wouldn't have thought it would be easy to do... I think I'll try this some time for my mom, she loves peplums^^ Thanks for the idea!

Thank you ladies and thank you Pom Pom, I already planned a cheerful outfit for tomorrow, as long as no one tries to run away I'll be okay. =)
