The Texas summer heat is always hard on me, I grew up in the mountains where it's always green and cool no matter the season. Every summer I try to visit my family in Mexico, however, this year I had some unexpected house expenses so I could not escape the heat. Since it's been too hot for me to want to do anything I had been sitting at home in raggedy clothes, eating unhealthy, drinking lots of soda and it just went downhill from there. Today though, I decided to get up, get dressed and get out of the house. Getting dressed helped improve my mood a lot. It's interesting how clothes affect our mood. I'm on my way to eat lunch with my son. Hope everyone is having a great week!
I probably bought all the Ferragamo shoes on eBay. I rarely buy the same thing in different colors but these shoes are perfect for everyday wear and work, they've been my guilty pleasure this summer.
Top: Old Navy
Belt, necklace & skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Ferragamo/ Etsy

Beautiful! I know what you mean about the heat. Argh! I had such a nice time up in Washington. It felt so good to be cool!
Don't feel guilty for resting, Shey. Soon you'll be on your pretty feet ALL day, right?
I know what you mean re: how getting dressed up can change your mood. I am not used to high temperatures, and even our upstate NY weather is too much for me... and yes, it is sooo tempting to just lounge around in old clothes all day! But dressing up is worth it, it does make you feel better!
As always you wore so pretty and fashionable.. I like your shoes so so much.. So stylish..:))
Good choise..:))
I totally know what you mean. I find how much I accomplish in a day directly correlates to what I wear. Clean coordinated outfit = something. Nasty stained pajamas = nothing.
PomPom you are right, I am really enjoying not having to do anything but at the same time it's hard when you;re used to being on the go all the time and suddenly you have nothing else to do.
=) I'm feeling better though, I dyed my hair and I'm drinking a lot of water.
Hate the heat and can't wait for it to end, but it'll be a couple more months while I mope at seeing bloggers wearing fall things up north in about a month. Love the shoes~

Cute! I would love to find a black pair for work.
Love your classic outfit, especially the shoes.
I think we all fall into those little unhealthy habits for one reason or another. The diet pop is one of those little bad traps for me. Grrr...
Very happy that you pulled yourself out and shared this pretty outfit with us!

i love a nautical inspired look, and know how easy it is to just hang around in pjs all weekend.
so important to get dressed and out of the house!
Very cute outfit!
I agree, getting dressed is a definite mood lifter! I find that when I don't get dressed, THAT is the time when I get an unexpected visitor!!! lol Why don't people stop when the house and myself are put together???? One of the mysteries of life, I suppose.
Such an adorable and preppy outfit! =)
