Yesterday after eating cupcakes my son and I stopped by his favorite place, Barnes & Noble. While he looked at books I flipped through some fashion magazines. Most were about what to wear for your body type, what things don't work, what is "in" and what's not, etc. After reading a few articles I felt a bit restrained style-wise and a bit confused, I could also not figure out what my body type was based on their guidelines, not that it matters. Maybe I just don't get fashion magazines. By the way, I really liked reading this post on personal style that Waves wrote a few months ago, it makes more sense to me that the magazine articles and it's an excellent post.

Fashion is big money. Style is totally different and you have a lovely sense of style!
Love the top!
And, lady, I would say you have dressing for your body type down to a 'T' regardless of what the fashion mags say! So, you just keep doing what you do, 'kay?! ;)
I have to admit that I am hooked on fashion magazines. Sometimes their advice is quite accurate and many times it isn't. I am a pear shape and I have read in fashion magazines that I should wear wide leg pants. I totally disagree!! I do love boot cut pants and even some straight pants..but wide leg? Makes me look really stout from the waist down and tiny on top. That's a perfect example of fashion magazine advice gone wrong!
I love the way you paired the below top with the vivid print skirt!
I love that you are happy in everything you wear. Isn't that what matters most?
my blog was recently used as an exam of "bad blogger" just because I don't fit in main stream bloggers with my style and/or body type in my country. so...
and I adore your skirt!
Gorgeous flowery skirt coming to life with the pop of yellow.
Feliz Fin de semana Shey.

The magazines try to be helpful, but really there aren't just a handful of body types, and you don't always want to dress by their rules -- if you have a big top things like horizontal stripes and ruffles are a no-no, if you have a big bottom you should only wear a-line skirts, ect ect.
who wants to live by those rules?
you get dressed every day, you know what flatters you, what doesn't and you get to decide how you want to look.
love this look on you, even if it's not recommended by the magazines.
Chic on the Cheap
I get so confused when reading articles for dressing body types. They seem to focus on one thing at a time, "What not to wear if you have big________", as if you have only ONE area that needs to be camouflaged. lol Well, I have several areas that need tweaking--so what about us combo gals??!! :-)
You always look so cute! I'm off to check the article you recommended!
Fashion magazines are confusing and style is a personal thing. I just don't believe someone can tell me what I should like.
Plus you have great style so you need no help at all. You look lovely!
Oh, I love this outfit! The combination of yellow with florals is beautiful.
I'm glad I found you :)
Thanks ladies =)
you look nice!
You look adorable in this outfit.
And thanks for the link! You know, I still read fashion magazines. I just can't shake the habit. I don't know if it is in part curiosity or what, but I am still interested in what is going on fashion, as much as it frustrates me. Weird, eh?
