Sometimes when I'm thrifting I find things that I really like but don't fit, like this teapot belt. I bought it at the thrift store because it was cute but it was also very small for me, I still brought it home and tried to wear it once in a while. I also thrifted the white belt and I will admit I only bought it for the brand YSL, but I didn't like the gold buckle. It took me a while to realize that I could make them work if only I used the best of both belts. So I unstitched both buckles and used the cute teapot buckle and the supple leather white belt, stitched the belt back together and voila, now I have a cute teapot belt that fits.
Before

Nice idea :)
Cute tea pot buckle.... another suggestion might be that you could dye the belt to a darker color if you wanted! That way you could have your belt and wear it too... plus have it the dark color that was originally what it came with? Just a thought.

That's a great idea Jean C. Thanks!
What a great idea! Love that teapot - and it stands out more against the white belt. Genius, girl, pure genius!
I agree with you CC I like the way the teapot looks with the white belt much better. =)
So cute! You look like summer, Shey!
Oh it's so cute! You may start a new trend with that...if teapot buckles can be found!
You are so talented! The teapot is adorable. :)

I love this! Did you use a leather or regular needle?
I used a regular needle and thread, I also used glue to add more reinforcement since the thread was kind of thin.
Such a cute belt!
This is an outfit I would definitely copy if I had all the pieces needed. It looks great on you cool, chic and refreshing!
Shey, this is sooo cute. I think the white actually accentuates the teapot lines and engraving more than the black does.
Cutest belt buckle I've seen in a long time! Very inspiring too! I always just walk away from a belt that doesn't fit!
Shey, I wanted to ask how you stitched the belt back together? By hand? What kind of needle did you use?
Thank you all, Lisa I used a larger needle with coat thread, it's a bit thicker and sturdier, then I followed the same stitch holes it already had so that I didn't have to puncture the thick leather. =)
