Florals and gingham

One of the problems I have when I buy shirts is that the medium size is usually a tad tight and the large size is too big. I've learned that bigger is better because you can always tailor clothing to fit you properly. This week I tailored a bunch of my shirts using this easy youtube tutorial. This shirt was one that I tailored, now it fits much better, hope it's a helpful link. Have a great weekend ladies!
Shirt: J. Crew Factory/ tailored by me
Belt: vintage
Necklace: thrifted
Skirt: refashioned by me
Shoes: TJ Maxx
Lips: M.A.C. Lady Danger

I have the same problem with shirts, but in different sizes of course^-^ I will check out that link, thank you for posting!

The patterns you picked for this outfit are beautiful on their own, but I really like how the gingham looks with the softness of the skirt. The shoes are great, too, I love the pink patent detail.
Perfect outfit, I really need to try this some time!

Thank you also for adding me to your blog roll :) ♥

Recently I started taking the time to tailor my button up shirts. It makes a HUGE difference. And I am more likely to want to wear them when they have a tailored fit

I really like the skirt!

I wish I had your mad seeing skills.

I want to ask you about the print above your bed in your picture. I can only see the first and middle name of the artist...can you tell me the last name. I can't see all of the picture, but I want to do an internet search for it...the colors and style looks similar to some things I have and I would like to get a better look at the picture!

Hi Lisa, the name of the painter is John William Godward and this print is called The Bretrothed, he painted many beautiful pieces of art. =)
