One of the things I'm being careful about is not investing time refashioning clothes I will only wear once. In the past I made that mistake, I would refashion something, wear it once, and then it would go into the donation box. That is why I haven't refashioned as much lately. I want to make sure that whatever I make will stay in my closet for many seasons.This refashioned skirt had staying power, I love the scalloped/lace hem and I'm thinking about making another skirt like it. This morning we had a little bit of sunshine and then scattered storms so I had to come home during my lunch time and change into my rain boots.

I can see why you're keeping it, it is really cute, and i like how you paired it with the slip underneath, the lace makes it extra interesting. i'm wearing a refashioned dress right now, i have to admit thought that i've hardly kept any of the skirts I've made!
Shey, This is sooo true. I've often refashioned something only to donate it. I think (in my case anyway) it's because I'm not that good yet.
I love your skirt - it has that uniqueness that makes it catch the eye, even the print is pretty!
Those are huge scallops but the lace peeking through is amazing! I agree that our wardrobe should only be composed of the things we will wear for ages. I ALSO think that our wardrobes should be composed of items that go together, so that each piece can be mixed and matched. That is using a wardrobe to the fullest extent :)
a good decision to keep it, it looks really great! and the lace underneath makes it so cute, i love it!
I also decided to buy/keep only things I really love, so far it's working quite well!

That's the issue that I have with refashioning. I end up only wearing something one time and it just wouldn't be worth the time I took to redo it. But I haven't totally given up! I'm like you...trying to be really selective about it! Have a super weekend girly! Hugs! ~Serene

Cute skirt... but did you re-fashion twice? I went to the post where you showed the dress and it looks like just a straight flat hem? I'm really liking the scallops and lace... I may have to figure one into my next refashion.
