Well hello there ladies! Today I want to show you a little refashion I whipped up in a few minutes, I bought this dress a while ago at a thrift store, and it waited in my refashion pile for over a month because I was indecisive on what to do with the sleeves. In the end I decided to chop them off, I also took in on the sides and cut the length. I'm very satisfied with the simplicity of this dress.
Before
After
And this is how I wore it.
Dress: vintage/ refashioned by me
Cardigan: F21
Necklace: vintage
Tights: TJ Maxx
Belt: vintage
Shoes: Steve by Steve Madden
Update: I understand this outfit might not be considered modest but the girl who is wearing it is, modesty is not just the clothes. Thank you all for your encouraging comments.

What a great refashion. The new dress is very flattering. I wish I could just alter something in minutes... I think more practice is needed by me.
Sweet refashion!
You at you in that cute LBD!
and I love how that classy cardi came from f21, haha.
Chic on the Cheap
CUTE!!
Wow, it went from drab to quite dressy. Great refashion.
So cute! You did a great job!
Yes! That is so cute! Clever lady.
Me encantan tus antes y después, dejas la ropa totalmente diferente!!!
Precioso look, me encantan las combinaciones blanco-negro.

nice contrast, not so modest though
Thank you for your comment Anonynous I know =)
You look very very cute!!!
Very, very pretty and well done. I especially like it with the cardigan.
perfection! I agree that modesty is in the inside as well. We must be kind and supportive to ourselves, as we are to others. No need for judgements- I have a strong internal critic ^_^
I disagree on the thought that this outfit is not so modest. I think what prompted that reaction is that this outfit is a bit edgy, it has a little more "Rock n Roll" than "Rock of Ages" :o) I do not see any cleavage, your dress is not skin tight, your legs are covered, and you covered bare shoulders with the cardigan...so where is the immodesty? I LOVE this outfit! On a side note, Krista, from Lazy Saturdays, layers her solid tights under patterned ones sometimes. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out...

I'm afraid the 'before' dress would have sat on my refashion to-do pile for a long time, because I wouldn't have known WHAT to do with those sleeves! That style of sleeve is very unflattering on my body type. But you NAILED it! Just cut those sleeves off! :-) Fantastic job! You look beautiful, as always!
Great job with the refashioning! The whole look is really classy and sophisticated.
Thank you all!
Dress up not down thanks girl, I understand there's different opinions about what modesty is, I never wear sleeveless but I did photograph it so that you all could see the after of the dress. I wear sleeveless with something over all the time just because I don't feel very comfortable showing my arms but for this refashion I thought it would be best if I did.
=)
Great job with the refashion! I love the little ruffles at the neckline and those tights. Very cute outfit!! :)
very nice. If this dress was knees length, this outfit can go to church!
