One skirt three ways

Summer has gone and yet we are still having temperatures high in the 90's. For that reason I haven't switched my Summer clothes for my Fall clothes yet, I will start on that tedious task once the temperatures go down. This Anthropologie skirt is definitely one of my favorites, I wore it more than it was photographed but these are three ways I have worn it. I hope everyone has a great Friday!
Worn with Gap shirt, vintage belt and faux pearls, BR loafers
Worn with TJ Maxx top, thrifted Gap card, vintage belt, thrifted shoes and vintage jewelry.
Worn with Gap shirt, F21 necklace, vintage belt and shoes.

Sunday best: Geek is the new chic

Lately I've been struggling to find something worth buying at the thrift store, I don't know why, this had not happened before, every time I went I was sure I would find something amazing, but it hasn't been the case in weeks, yesterday though I found this fabulous bow tie and a vintage belt. The bow tie is something I was craving to have so I am very content with my find. This is what I wore to church today:
The beautiful tapestry bag is a gift from my friend Clara (it was her grannie's).

Sunday Best: 1 dress 5 ways

Hi! I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend. Today I wanted to show you 5 outfits remixing one dress. Since I came back from Mexico I have been more careful about my shopping habits, I have not spent every weekend at the thrift stores because, honestly, I don't have the money. I thrifted this dress two years ago for $1.75, it was a couple of sizes too big, at that time I wasn't comfortable with refashioning yet so I asked my talented mother to "help" me, she did all the work herself I only helped to hem. I'm wearing a petticoat underneath for extra poof.
Church
I love this outfit because it's so romantic and so ladylike, yes it's a bit costumey but I'm a 50's girl what can I say.
Necklace: vintage /gift
Cardigan: thrifted
Collar: vintage/ flea market
Shoes: Mexico
A day at the park
I think this outfit would be great for a day at the park, maybe a picnic? Let's not talk about food I'm starving. For days at the park I like to keep everything simple, no heels allowed.
Cardigan: Ann Taylor/ thrifted
Sandals: Vintage/ thrifted
Classroom Teacher
I love this outfit, it's probably my favorite of all, I could be a Mad Men extra don't you think? I never tried wearing a dress as a skirt but it works! All I did was tuck the ends inside the shirt and belt it with a wide belt.
Necklace: F21
Shirt: Chico's /thrifted
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Mexico
Office Meeting
Very preppy outfit, this would be the perfect outfit for a conference day, I think I look like a principal (cough, never want to be one, cough, cough!)
Necklace: vintage/ thrifted
Men's blazer: United Colors of Benetton/ thrifted
Pins: vintage/ estate sale
ShoesL ModCloth
Date night
My birthday present to myself, a leather jacket, I had wanted one for so long, the inner rocker girl in me needed it.
Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs/ TJ Maxx
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs/ DSW/ old
Hope you all enjoy the rest of this Sunday, for all of those who lost someone on 9/11 we're keeping you in our prayers.

Blue & Green

Hello everybody! Today was a great day at work, the highlight of the day happened outside in the playground, two of my little ones decided not to follow the rules today so they had to sit in time out during recess, suddenly we saw the BIG fifth graders run by to get in line, one of the boys, tough-looking 5th grader with a mohawk, ran towards us, I knew he was my little one's older brother, they look just alike and the older brother was also in my kindergarten class 5 years ago. I thought he was going to ask why his little brother was in time out, but instead he just leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek and then continued along his way, aw! it just melted my heart, totally unexpected.
I love the idea of wearing faux pearls a'la Jackie, hidden behind the garment.
I had to wear my trench in the morning because it was a bit chilly (60's). I love this jersey, I bought it at Zara when I was on vacation in Guadalajara, Mexico, I almost went crazy wanting to buy everything at the store had it not been for my boyfriend who saved me by being impatient. =)
Jersey: Zara $19
Faux Pearls: Vintage $2.49
Belt: from a thrifted dress
Skirt: J. Crew /thrifted $5.65
Shoes: Metro7/ thrifted $ 7.49
Trench: TJ Maxx $30
