A few weeks ago while I was browsing at F21, I saw a LBD with a peter pan collar that I really liked, however, the fit was too baggy so I didn't buy it. Days later I went to the thrift store and found this dress, very similar to the one I had seen at F21, except it didn't have a peter pan collar, not a problem for me! I bought an old velvet shirt and sewed my own little collar and voila! I have a better fitting version of the F21 dress for much much less.
Before
After
I had to make this picture very bright so you could see the collar, it's so hard to photograph black.
This picture is so funny I had to post it. (see cat below?!)
Another red coat I thrifted 2 years ago for $14 bucks.
Dress: thrifted & twitched by me
Necklaces: vintage/ thrifted
Purse: vintage/ thrifted
Tights: Target/ old
Shoes: Dillards/ old
Coat: Thrifted

You look amazing.
Love that dress!!
Very cute holiday outfit!!! I love the red jacket.
Shey, you seriously look like a MILLION bucks! I'm forwarding this on my facebook page...because THIS is what I'm talking about. Thrifting and looking like you spent big bucks.....you do this flawlessly! Hugs! ~Serene
Thank you everyone, thank you Serene, I think this outfit was easily below $60 bucks because everything except the tights and shoes is thrifted, you really don't have to spend millions but fit is very important and garment quality too, although I enjoy shopping at cheap stores like F21 the thrift stores are far better, the only thing is that you have to take time ti look and know your fabrics, but you can definitely find great outfits for less and look like you spent a lot. =)
very pretty Shey!
Beautiful! What a perfect holiday outfit. :)
<3 your outfit is so christmasy! you find the prettiest things at the thrift store Shey!
Merry Christmas!
HI Shey, thanks for your comment.
I think you did an amazing job adding that collar.
You can even think of making a lace one and a white one so you can get even more wear out of the dress.
Nice thrift.
This is right up my alley. In fact, I just made a blouse with a velvet peter pan collar and cuffs. This dress looks great on you and I like how the collar balances out the layers on the bottom and the long sleeves. And velvet is my favorite fabric at the moment anyways.
love the collar!
