Refashion: Florals for Fall

Last night I had some time on my hands so I decided to refashion this vintage skirt I bought at the thrift store, I paid $2.99 for it, it was a bit stiff but after washing it it was fine. The fabric is beautiful and the color is perfect for my favorite season (Fall!). For this skirt I made 4 pleats on each side, I also gathered the fabric in the middle and back section for some fullness and shortened it.
Before
After
This is how I wore it to work.
Shirt: thrifted
Necklace: Refashioned from a broken thrifted necklace
Cardigan: Gap
Belt: vintage/ thrifted
Shoes: thrifted new
Lipstick: Mac Ruby Woo
Hairdo inspired by this tutorial, I made a doughnut for my hair from an old pair of tights.

This is SUCH a pretty look! I love the simplicity of the shapes, the beautiful attention to detail and the little classic touches: the pearls! the red lipstick!

So glad you "de-lurked" and left me a comment - thank you! And thank you so much for reading. :)

Cheers,
Sheila

So pretty! The skirt came out wonderfully as always, and i adore the tie neck blouse, and the braided loop on the belt.

Vaya rollo que te he soltado

I love the way you styled this skirt. It looks really fantastic, especially with the shirt tucked in.

Shey, you blow me away with your pretty styles. Love your braids, red lippy and your refashions are so inspiring. don't suppose you'll be able to meet up with me in California next year? I'm visiting for 3.5 weeks.

Oh, lovely! That's what I love doing myself. It's all about color and fabric, and you can always give the skirt a new hem)

I love my hair donut! I used to use a sock and then I paid $3 for a squishy netted donut from a beauty supply store. I think I'll try a pair of tights next. I have so much trouble twisting my hair, but I want to try this hairstyle at some point!
