Sunday Best: 1 dress 5 ways

Hi! I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend. Today I wanted to show you 5 outfits remixing one dress. Since I came back from Mexico I have been more careful about my shopping habits, I have not spent every weekend at the thrift stores because, honestly, I don't have the money. I thrifted this dress two years ago for $1.75, it was a couple of sizes too big, at that time I wasn't comfortable with refashioning yet so I asked my talented mother to "help" me, she did all the work herself I only helped to hem. I'm wearing a petticoat underneath for extra poof.
Church
I love this outfit because it's so romantic and so ladylike, yes it's a bit costumey but I'm a 50's girl what can I say.
Necklace: vintage /gift
Cardigan: thrifted
Collar: vintage/ flea market
Shoes: Mexico
A day at the park
I think this outfit would be great for a day at the park, maybe a picnic? Let's not talk about food I'm starving. For days at the park I like to keep everything simple, no heels allowed.
Cardigan: Ann Taylor/ thrifted
Sandals: Vintage/ thrifted
Classroom Teacher
I love this outfit, it's probably my favorite of all, I could be a Mad Men extra don't you think? I never tried wearing a dress as a skirt but it works! All I did was tuck the ends inside the shirt and belt it with a wide belt.
Necklace: F21
Shirt: Chico's /thrifted
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Mexico
Office Meeting
Very preppy outfit, this would be the perfect outfit for a conference day, I think I look like a principal (cough, never want to be one, cough, cough!)
Necklace: vintage/ thrifted
Men's blazer: United Colors of Benetton/ thrifted
Pins: vintage/ estate sale
ShoesL ModCloth
Date night
My birthday present to myself, a leather jacket, I had wanted one for so long, the inner rocker girl in me needed it.
Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs/ TJ Maxx
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs/ DSW/ old
Hope you all enjoy the rest of this Sunday, for all of those who lost someone on 9/11 we're keeping you in our prayers.

Love all the outfits! Great post. I think the last one is my fave - so cute with the leather jacket and tough heels. :)

Nice remixing! I bet the cost per wear of that dress is in the pennies.

Okay, so these are PERFECT. I love the way that you remixed this dress in so many different ways. They don't even look the same!

Hi, Shey. I found your blog through Pom Pom. Your dress is adorable! It's just my style, but those types of dresses are SO hard to find. I need to get the old sewing machine out and make some, but.....
