At the age of 5 I disliked the marks lipstick left on my cheek, unless it was from my mom, then I would rub it off my face once I thought she wasn't looking.
At the age of 6 when my parents split I missed my mom's lipstick on my cheek and would love to see it on her letters.
At 8 there was this teacher who scared me because she wore so much of it, her make-up was scary.
At age 10 I loved the way my Barbie's lips would turn bright red if I put ice on them.
At 12 my mom allowed me to wear a sheer pink lip tint, I was no longer a little girl.
At 13 I was a teen! At school everyone wore their reddest lipstick, my sister bought a red lipstick she would wipe off before we got home, I tried it but it made my teeth look yellow so I went for pink.
At 15 I discovered cinnamon shades after my best friend told me where she bought hers for 8 pesos (75 cents) at the town's market.
At 18 I discovered Bilstex Lip Tone in Nuevo Laredo, MX. I still use it to this day.
At 20 my boyfriend always wiped off my lipstick with his fingers so I switched to tinted lip balm, I tried the flavored one too.
At 29 I followed certain religious dress guidelines so I stopped using make-up altogether and discovered Burt's bees lip balm, love it's tingling.
I'm 32 and I'm wearing a bright orange shade, I like it, it makes me giggle every time I catch myself in a mirror, I feel like that 13 year old who could get in trouble if she's caught wearing such "scandalous" shade. My son hates it, I chase him around the house to give him a kiss and we both laugh. I'm happy.

Wow, you do have a history with lipstick! Mine is pretty short: I used to it when I was a toddler. I know, gross! :)
I love that shade though, it goes so well with your outfit. I've been thinking about getting a coral shade since seeing it everywhere...
Shey, I really think this is a beautiful color on you and I loved hearing your history with lipstick! Fun post!
hehe thanks ladies, I've been excited wearing lipstick again, although I'll wear it once in a while, I don't like too much make-up anyways. =)
It's lovely and I relate to alot of your personal history. I followed some very strict religious guidelines for 10 years. Relaxing some of them has really made me enjoy life again. You look gorgeous! ~Serene
Beautiful colors - lipstick, blouse - and that blue patchwork on your pillow :-)
I love lipstick, too! Red! I leave lots of smoochy smudges on my grandkids' faces.
What a cute post! I guess every girl has a history of lipstick use of her own. :) Pretty necklace, and the blouse has a great print. (I can't wait to scroll down all of your last month's posts; I haven't had the chance to read your blog in soooo long - it's good to be back!)
You look great!
I only wear lipstick on Sundays and my three year old tells me - "mommy, you have lips!" He thinks it is hilarious. :)
We have a very different history with lipstick and make-up. I have been in love with lipstick since I was 5 years old..lol
Lovely outfit and the orange lipstick flows perfectly with you floral top. :)
Mrs. J I believe you and it looks so good in you.
That coral orange looks really nice on you! I don't wear lipstick (unless it is very close to my own lip colour)...but only because when i do...my face looks like a giant mouth and not in a flattering Angelina Jolie way. You're lucky it suits you!
Precioso pintalabios, aunque aquĆ no se encuentran muchas cosas de Revlon, que por cierto la Color Stay, es mi base preferida!!!

I love your whole outfit and the lipstick color looks great!
I noticed the Cabbage Patch kid in the background of your photos and I think it's similar to the one I had growing up :)
I love your history of lipstick. That shade looks lovely on you, and I'm glad it makes you smile. The lipstick I most remember is from high school - I went through a Selena lipstick phase: brown liner, brick red color. Looking back, I'm not sure if I still like it or if I was being ridiculous. Jajajaja
hehehe Frances I remember the Selena look! Maybe that's why all the girls wore red? =D
very nice outfit!
I loved this post so much!
