That's so 70's

Hey there lovely ladies! I'm biting my tongue about not liking the 70's fashion because here I am wearing a very 70's look with the hair and all. I think the reason behind not liking the 70's is because of Polyester (insert scary tune here), but I have to bite my tongue again because just this weekend I found a very polyestery-looking dress at the thrift store and I bought it, it's in a lovely granny-smith apple hue plus it fits! Do you know how hard it is to find large sizes in vintage clothes? It's almost like there were no large women back then. Anyways I leave you with this polyester outfit.
Dress: vintage
Belt: vintage
Necklace: thrifted
Boots: vintage
Everything is thrifted!

Oh my! Beautiful!

I recently discovered your blog and was totally hooked via your thrifting skills... I would have thought it was from the Spring '11 RTW Ralph Lauren line. It has that Western yet polished flair to it... an unexpectedly lovely remnant of 70's fashion. Kudos! :)

I don't comment often; But this has to be THE best thing I have seen you wear.
The dress is gorgeous, but more importantly it suits you and the style is gorgeous on you :)

Poly gets a lot of hate, but at the end of the day, it's not the worst fiber in existence, and hey, at least you don't have to iron.

Also, it's hard to hate a trend. even one you weren't really into at first, as soon as you start to see it everywhere, chances are you will start to warm up to it.

Oh, how much do I love your outfit..?! The dress is wonderful (it doesn't look polyester-y at all), and the boots are superb with it.

I agree re: vintage sizes. I am almost always too tall for any "real" vintage clothes. I tried looking for vintage flared jeans (before I finally just bought a pair from Gap), but I couldn't find any second hand ones that were long enough for me. Seems like people were a lot shorter and smaller back in the day!
