Sunday Best: Preppy Florals

Hi there pretty ladies, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Today after church my son and I decided to go on a picnic, the weather has been very nice and we really enjoyed the time outside, we bought Subway for lunch, took a book, a blanket, and his bike and headed on to the park. As long as the weather permits we'll be outside. After the picnic we went to Half-Price Bookstore and then to the dreaded grocery shopping, if there is one kind of shopping I dislike it's for groceries.
Skirt: Ralph Lauren/ thrifted and refashioned by me
Shirt: Chico's/ thrifted
Belt: vintage Christian Dior
Necklace: thrifted/ refashioned by me
Tights: Target
Shoes: DSW
Sweater jacket: Ralph Lauren
To go to a picnic all the fancy stuff came off, I'm learning how to dress for the occasion so that I don't overdress (which I tend to do). What do you think?
At the park with my boy.
I hope everyone has a blessed week!

That's really cool and I like the way the outfit changes from 'church' to 'picnic' so easily! :)

What a nice idea to bring some books for the boy!

I love the floral patterns together! And I probably wouldn't have thought these light spring colours could look so great with black tights and shoes - but the combination is gorgeous!

Oh how lovely! I too enjoyed the great outdoors today with my family! I love gardening and was able to do some today. So I cut herbs while my mother read on a cute bench in our back yard. I love your outfit! I too dressed my sunday best outfit down today with an apron and the hair went up. I adore the floral prints! they look great together. Putting two florals together is something I never thought of! what a great idea!
I adored this post and think its lovely you all spent your time together reading and enjoying God's creation.

God bless!

The shirt and skirt go perfect together. I think the floral patterns are just so similar and could pass for a dress.
BTW, I would be in love with that cardigan too! It's Ralph Lauren! JEALOUS.. ;)

I use to hate grocery shopping, but now my husband can barely get me out..lol

I adore the sweater blazer, it really does add so much polish to a look.

I think your dressed down version is cute as well, and your right about trying to dress more for what you are doing.
Sometimes I go grocery shopping in heels wonder what the heck i'm doing...

Lyddie I'm barely learning my lesson, I guess I've been noticing more and more that at times I'm overdressed and while sometimes it's good to dress nice other times it's just foolish, imagine if I had gone to the park in heel, I would have felt so uncomfortable!

That is a very sweet outfit, just so pretty and modest. Plus it looks great on you.
It looks lovely dressed up and dressed down, too.
I love the name of your blog.

That cardigan is wonderful; it looks like the perfect versatile piece of clothing. I love how you turned a very dressed-up church outfit to a laid-back one! Looking good, as always!

I LOVE this outfit so much, Shey! All the pieces are so pretty, and you were able to switch from one look to the other.
