I had been obsessed with this Kelly green Skirt from Anthro, I dreamed of the day it would go on sale so I could buy it although at $68 it wasn't that expensive (compared to other Anthropologie skirts). Many things stopped me from buying it, the price, I dislike elastic waistbands and it was a bit too short for me, not to mention that is way too unflattering.
Once I tried it on I knew I had to make my own Kelly green skirt so I bought this dress at the thrift store(cute yes but too big) and some Rit dye (kelly green dye).
Tip: I don't recommend dyeing white, I had to dye the dress twice to get a color close enough to what I wanted. Next time I'll try to find something that is closer to the color I want.

After much thought I decided to make my skirt a different shape, I wanted a full skirt but something a bit more flattering than the Anthro skirt. The Anthro skirt's elastic waistband added extra bulk around the waist.
Just for fun I used a pink zipper instead of a green one and then decided I wanted to wear my pink belt and sweater as well. Nothing says preppy like pink and green.
Next on my list are an orange skirt and a yellow one too.
Wearing: refashioned skirt, BR sweater, Gap belt, Bass loafers, Vintage cameo from friend's granny , flower pin from Waves.

Awwww...you look so pretty and very ready for spring. Every refashion you do makes me want to get behind the sewing machine. I really love this look Shey!! ;)
What a fantastic remix! You really are just the most creative woman I know. Love the pink combo, too.
oh my gosh SHEY! This is the best! i love the refashion, and it is adorable with pink and that little flower and cameo!
You are SO creative. How'd you do that waistband? YOu inspire me to try new things to get exactly the style of clothes I want without paying the big bucks.
Fabulous job! I love the little green skirt!

Nice work! I haven't dyed anything for too too long.
Great job with the skirt, and I looove the pink/green combo! Also, it makes me smile every time I see you wear the flower pin. :)
Well done! I love the shape of that skirt and the color is stunning; I love the way you paired it with pink. Very preppy chic!
You are really brilliant! Seriously. Love this!
Awesome! You just reminded me about Rit dye! Great color and thanks for the inspiration. I really love kelly green, too. I don't have much time to dye anything now, but over the summer I might dye a few thrifted dresses I have.

This is adorable. I want to learn how to die fabrics but it seems so intimidating to me. Maybe I will give it a try soon.
You look so ready for spring, I love the pink and green color combo. The skirt came out so well!
Wow! I can't believe you turned that white dress into that adorable green skirt! I mean I believe it but-what can I say-good job!
