Gingham and stripes

Today it was a rainy kind of day, I love those days except for the fact that I would rather spend them at home sleeping late, but it was a great day at school nevertheless. I wish my students were old enough to make their own paper boats all by themselves, we would have had a blast, but since I could not think of making 24 paper boats in less than 10 minutes and my kids would not have had the patience to wait then we just took a nature walk around the school garden to see if we could spy some earth worms, we didn't find any, but guess what we found? 4 monarch caterpillars! Boy were we excited! We took them in, put them in our butterfly habitat and I tell you, we could spend the whole day watching those little caterpillars eat, eat, and eat.
I bought this pretty trench at TJ Maxx, I think I'm going to replace those buttons for wooden buttons.

1950's pendant from flea market.
I'm wearing my thrifted Ann Tailor shirt, thrifted and refashioned skirt, vintage pendant, flats are old, trench from TJ Maxx.

You look angelic. I don't know if I know how to make a paper boat. I am going to have to try that this weekend : )

That coat is so cute, it will look wonderful with new buttons.

I once had a bad experience with caterpillars.
I had found a few and was really excited to see them change into butterflies, I waited and waited... they made their cocoons...
and out came gross white moths.
it was horrible.

I love everything about this outfit. The gingham, the lace peaking out from the bottom of the skirt, the pendant... and the trench is fantastic! Love Love Love

Your skirt is so pretty! You look ready to go on a fancy picnic (all red gingham shirt = picnic to me!)

yes! Wooden buttons would make that super coat even better! And as you already know I adore your skirt. Beautiful outfits as usual. Beautiful you!
