Sailor Skirt

Today I want to show you the circular skirt I made. I worked on this skirt for the past three days, I used McCalls 5811 pattern, very easy to make, the only mistake I made was not buying enough fabric and that was the girl at JoAnn's fault, she gave me bad advice and then I had to go buy more fabric. The total of materials was about $35 bucks, not bad compared to Anthropologie's $128 semi-circular skirt. I used linen fabric for it and it's just perfect, I also worked a bit more on my floral skirt, I re-did the hem and added scallops and a slip detail, I can't wait to show you that one too. The only thing I haven't done is take out the Spring clothes and put away my Winter ones. =P

I'm wearing my skirt with a thrifted Talbots shirt, vintage belt and sandals. I'm also wearing a semi-puffy slip.
Here was the pattern and fabric, I totally recommend this skirt for beginners.

The two skirts you've just made are so cute! I especially like this one with the anchors. Circle skirts use a lot of fabric, I don't know why someone would advise you to get less fabric!

Shey I love this outfit! especially that sailor anchor fabric! where do you get it???! I have not been doing that much clothing sewing as I have so many clothes, but I am getting a vintage wide leg pants pattern in the mail and can't wait to start on it when it arrives in time for spring! have a blessed day!
