One lucky gal

Hello everyone, school started today and I cannot tell you how hard it was to get up and get dressed for work. I finally switched winter clothes for Spring and I was overwhelmed, I have too much! You see, I didn't start thinking about only buying the things I loved until the Fall, so I had way too many skirts and shirts that I didn't even wear last Spring. I also noticed my closet lacks those pieces that can pull everything together, I have way too many prints and nothing seems to make sense, getting dressed was not exciting this morning.

But let's go on to the good part, today my friend at work brought some things she wanted me to have, they belonged to her grandmother (she passed away) and my friends has only sons so she asked me if I would like to have some of her grandma's things. This was before Spring Break so I didn't have much time to think about it and I forgot to go to her classroom to check out what she had for me. Well today 2 other teachers joined the list to get the vintage goodies so she told me ."You must come now! I want you to pick first the things you like" Little did I know what all she had for me, there were 2 boxes of vintage scarves and jewelry, it was like getting Christmas presents, I was so excited to see all the beautiful scarves and pins.
Her graandma had such an exquisite taste but my friend says she would never wear any of it, I don't even think she knew what she was giving me except for the Gucci scarf which she did mention.
I don't know if you can see but these were some of my favorite items, the scarves are new and there are 2 Yves Saint Lauren scarves, 1 Gucci, and 1 Hermes! Among my favorite pieces of jewelry were the sea shell sterling silver cameo pin/pendant (not a fake), it's actual sea shell! I also loved the 1950's necklace and clip-on earrings set and the little vintage cross stitched pin that she made for her grandma when she was a little girl.
She also gave me that beautiful hand carved musical jewelry box from the Music Box Company, it's beautiful and it plays the Dancer tune, I'm in love with it.
And last but no least these brand new vintage nylons in their original box! They are sooo beautiful, I had not seen 1950's nylons before, well only online but never live, they are the softest little things.
And these are just some of the things I got, I have 2 boxes of leather gloves, more jewelry and more scarves and tomorrow she wants me to go take a look at her grandma's clothes to see if I like anything. I'm soooo very happy and because I know her and I've worked with her (she's going to retire this year) I've gotten to know her so these things that she's giving me have more sentimental value to me than if I had bought them myself. I'm really going to take care of all these beautiful things, I feel so blessed and honored that she chose to give them to me.
