2X1 100% thrifted

"Hi Cowgirl" was the greeting I got from one of my former students on Wednesday and yeap, sure enough cowgirl boots always make me feel like a cowgirl. The funny thing is that even though I'm a Texan and live in Texas I don't like to look like a cowgirl and yet here I am with 2 outfits in a row with cowgirl boots, both all thrifted.
I've had these Steve Madden boots the longest, I think the reason I don't wear them as much is because they are very pointy, I don't like pointy shoes that much, I often see other bloggers rocking similar boots, Frances being one of them but I'm not very confident in these boots.

Shirt: Lacoste
Dress: Charter Club (tailored by me)
Jacket: PS/ (buttons replaced by me)
Pin: Vintage
There is nothing anyone could tell me that would prevent me from wearing this 60's tapestry coat. I bought this baby more than a year ago for $1.75 but unfortunately it was 2 sizes too big, I almost sold it on my etsy store but I could not part away with it. After more then a year I decided to dry clean it, once it was clean I decided I would do something about the fitting, I almost wore it as big as it was but too big clothes add the pounds so instead I was going to take it to the tailor (I know my limitations when it comes to tailoring and refashioning and coats and jackets are one of them).
So then I called my mom and she told me she had the day off, my mom is a savvy seamstress so I asked her to tailor my coat, by the end of the day she had it done and now it fits perfect. Yes the print is a bit loud and so is the color but that's exactly why I love it!
Outfit Details: 100% thrifted
60's tapestry coat: thrifted/ tailored by my mom
Shirt: New York & Co.
Belt: thrifted
Skirt: BR
Scarf: Vintage Hermes/ gift from friend
Boots: vintage/ thrifted
I thrifted this pretty belt last night.
And my boots! Also thrifted last night, they are vintage, supple leather, almost like new, clean, rounded toe, heel is comfy, what can I say they are perfect and they were only $12.81! Score!

Thank you all, Lyddie I don't think it's a 70's coat, it's mid or late 60's but from the shape and the pattern I don't think it's a 70's coat but maybe I'm wrong, I still love it though. =)

okay....the plaid shirt and blue dress combo I totally covet. I love how you dramatically changed that jacket with the button swapout. The Tapestry coat is amazing, you are right not to have sold it. And the boots you just thrifted are perfect. And there you go!

I think you look like a classy cowgirl! I love cowboy boots which is funny because I didn't before. I also love your tapestry coat. I think tailoring is worth it though I've yet to take anything to a profesh myself.

You're amazing! Thanks for the shout out. Me encantan tus botas - los dos pares. No sé cual de los dos outfits me gusta más. That scarf around your hips is such a perfect touch!
