Shades of gray

Last night I watched a documentary called Waiting for Superman, it's very good I highly recommend it, it's about 5 students who are falling between the loopholes because of the education system. It broke my heart but it also made me realize how many kids fall behind because of bad teachers. Bad teachers are out there, lots of them, I know we've all encountered them by personal experience or by our own children. I've met bad teachers and I've worked with them too. I often wonder why on earth they chose this career. Thank God there are good teachers too, I still remember all of my great teachers.

And there are bad administrators not helping or stopping the bad teachers too. Just sayin'
Love the cut of the skirt!

oh yes! Like they said on the documentary education is all about the adults, not the students and it is totally right, but this is because of the unions, it's not so easy to fire a teacher, not at all.

Hey Shey, pretty skirt. What a super shape on you. Sounds like the education system is a shambles everywhere you go.

The skirt is so pretty and I love the tie blouse! I've been meaning to watch that movie forever - I've worked at some very inner-city schools in the past and it was depressing to see kids in middle school who could not read, but kept getting passed on to the next grade because no one wanted to keep them an extra year!

I love that skirt. The pattern is so southwestern.

I can't believe you prefer winter over summer. My husband and I were both discussing how we'd rather be hot than cold, as we were freezing in the snow.

Ooh I love the outfit. Very chic, the skirt is wonderful.

I haven't seen Waiting for Superman yet, but I have read very good things about it. I had very bad teachers in sciences (one was a bully, one was a total wimp whose voice I couldn't even hear). I have always loved nature, animals and space, and when I was little I dreamt of becoming a vet, or an astronomer. I often wonder if I had chosen a different career path if I had had better teachers in subjects like biology and physics. Teachers do have great influence over the minds of children.

that skirt has such a great print, but you always have wonderful thrift finds.

It's really sad to think in this country we have kids who don't finish high school, and teachers who don't care.

I can't wait to wear my belt like this with a similar skirt.

In regards to "Waiting for Superman" I have yet to see the movie. Several people have recommended that I watch it. Our teacher's union made this HUGE stink about the movie, and suggested that it portrayed teacher's in a negative light and that we stand against the movie. I'll have to watch it to form my own opinion.
