Ladies and gents what a great day it will be today! The sun is shinning, the ice and snow are melting, it's a beautiful day outside and I just fired myself from the 30X30 wardrobe challenge. So fast? I wanted to quit since day 3! The thing is, I enjoyed watching my fellow bloggers follow the challenge in the past so I wanted to try it...but I really dislike the feeling of being so limited with what I can wear. I love all of the things in my closet, with the challenge I felt like I was missing out on wonderful outfits in there. I guess wardrobe challenges are not my thing. I got dressed for the last 2 days because of the challenge even though I really wanted to stay in my pajamas. Another thing I didn't like was having to take outfit pictures everyday. So there, now I'm off to my favorite thrift store to spend the $20 bucks I found in my drawer, don't you just love it when you find forgotten cash?
P.S. I think the challenge is a wonderful idea, I just couldn't do it.
I love mustard and pink together, the collar is vintage and I knew it was very risky too add the pearls, but I did anyways because I'm not one to always follow fashion rules.

Yessssssssssss! I'll tell you a secret. I loathe the 30x30 challenge. I find it boring, limited, and am so much less interested when bloggers are doing it. I think it's great to remix the pieces in your own wardrobe, but the challenge itself has never appealed to me as a blogger or a blog reader. I think it's awesome that you decided you didn't like it, and just opted out. A free spirit.
I love the skirt! I never would have thought to put mustard yellow with pink, but it looks great! :)
haha thank you Robyn! =D
I love that mustard skirt so much!!! I never would have thought to pair it with pink, it looks great!
I'm jealous that you get to go thrifting now. That's the one thing that's driving me crazy about this challenge. Except I sort of need it there to stop me from shopping because I need to save up. :) Can't wait to see what new finds you get with that $20!
Ha. I'm with you and Robyn. I've never been bold enough to post about how I dislike it publicly, but one other blogger did and it created this comment war and twitter frenzy. Which is kind of hilarious. What? We are horrible for disliking it? We are breaking the spirit of the 800 participants?
Why is the idea of remixing your closet so foreign that you have to FORCE yourself to do it with only 30 items?
But I'll stop ranting and tell you how cute I think mustard and pink are together, and you know i'm a huge fan of the pairing!
hope you are enjoying the sun, tell it that i miss it.
Wow I didn't know that happened Lyddie, hopefully no one would get mad at me for speaking up, I mean I love to see what outfits the other remixers come up with, even Kendi, she does a great job with her wardrobe, but being that winter is almost over I want to be able to wear most of my clothes one last time. =)
I totally agree about the 30x30 challenge. Its a great idea, especially for those who need inspiration when it comes to mixing things up. I'm a proud thrifter too so I have lots of cool things to wear. Not one outfit the same :) I would be sad if I had to limit the use of my goodies for 30 days!
I was looking at your wardrobe refasion stuff- pretty nice!! :)
I'm not a blogger (I just love looking at them, especially yours!). But you know, I don't like the 30X30 either. I mean, it's a cool concept and I've seen it bring out some real creativity in some bloggers. But I dunno. I think it occurs too often maybe? I find myself not being as interested as checking the blogs when they're doing the challenge. I don't think it's for everyone, ya know? Although I think your remix would've been really fun to watch. Outfit #1 was actually one of my faves of yours!
Being that this is the first time I've commented though I've been following it for a while, I just wanna tell you that I love it! I'm a Christian, too, and I'm all about modesty. I converted about a yr and a half ago and have followed my convictions not to wear pants. At first, I was having a really hard time being creative. I never wore skirts before. But blogs like yours show me modest fashion, and you rock it! I'm constantly inspired. :)
You always look so beautiful. LAUGHED my head off about you firing yourself : ) You are so funny!
I didn't think I could follow through with the 30for30 either... that's why I didn't from the start.
Also found money = awesome!
it is hard and there are things i would love to bust out...but i guess that's why it's a challenge! hehe. i needed a push to be more creative and i figured after these 30 days i will be able to incorporate my new style ideas next month!
I would have loved to see what you make of the challenge, and if it was only the aspect of taking pictures every day, I'd say: take your time - there are others, too, who need more time than 30 days to complete the challenge. But as it's not just the time aspect, I think you chose wisely to quit. Things like this are supposed to be fun or helpful or both - if it's none of these for you but becomes annoying and an obligation, there's no sense in forcing yourself to continue only because you have started. So have fun at the thrift store with the money you've found! :-)
By the way, I think the pearl necklace works well with the collar. The rest of the outfit is rather clear and simple so it isn't too much.
I don't do 30x30-types of challenges either... Other bloggers seem to enjoy them and they make it work, but I would just find myself way too limited...
I LOVE mustard and pink together, it looks so awesome!
Gah! I want a mustard skirt so badly! I love that your fired yourself from the 30x30. I feel like this might be my last one since I'm so limited in my wardrobe anyway, but I will say it's made my life easier with everything else I've had going on.
I love the colors!!! So pretty. I wish I owned that skirt :)

Thank you everybody, thank you Jessie your comment is very kind and I'm glad you commented. =D
I just wanted to say that I love your blog and I also stopped doing my 30x30 challenge yesterday! I am starting to get bored of it! I might just keep posting pictures of my outfits without doing the challenge, but post pictures for each day anyway, but not remixed. We will see! But do come over and check out my remixed stuff anyway.
I love your outfits because they are pretty and still feminine! that is great! I especially love the collar on the sweater and the color combo is great on you!
God bless!
Rebecca
