Leather and Ruffles

Well beautiful ladies we are on the last day of 2010. One more year to come and many resolutions to work on huh? This was a good year for me, as every year has been ever since I gave my life to Christ. This year I also started this blog, which has helped ease some of my insecurities and best of all I've found  wonderful, inspiring blogs and made great blogger buddies.

Have you met them?

Hello pretty ladies, today I wanted to share swith you ome of my favorite blogs, maybe you know these ladies already but just in case I'm passing on their links.

First is the beautiful Heather from Feather's Flights, she does amazing things with her sewing machine, one of my favorites has been this Harry Potter book and may I add that she also likes modest clothing? She also refashions her clothes and sews her own clothes and hats.

Another favorite blogger is Angie from Sew I thought, she is a Nursing student and she is also the refashionista guru, I'll let her pictures do the talking. I'm always amazed on the things she does.

And last but not least meet Elsita Mora from The Hidden Seed she has the most exquisite style, her art and style remind me of Frida Kahlo, not only that but her views on life and other issues are truly an inspiration.

Hope you enjoy these blogs if you didn't already know them. =)

Pink and Gray

Hi ladies, I'm back! Today I wore the most amazing coat ever, I bought it at the thrift store for $30 bucks two months ago but I hadn't wore it because I wanted to shorten it and have it dry cleaned, however because I don't want to spend $$$ on dry cleaners a little febreeze will do for now. I also changed my mind about the coat's length once I wore it, I think it looks great. I added my own belt because sadly it's belt was missing.
Oh and yes I went back to Anthropologie and got the skirt in a different color, it's perfect, if they had it in black I would buy it too.

Shirt: thrifted (I shortened the sleeves)

Style Inspiration

Would you? Could you? Go all monochrome? I'm not fond of navy blue hosery but the rest I like.
White tights? A little girlish I must admit but the look is fun.
Hair, everything is pure preppy perfection.
I don't know which I love the most, her pose or the whole outfit.
I LOVE this girl's shoes!
That thing on her hair is a vintage hat not fried, bad-hair coloring hair.
The other day I bought a long vintage coat that's missing the belt, I know know how I will wear it.
I don't own anything purple, except tights, I love this cable-knit dress in purple.
Military done right.
Mixing patterns yes, who doesn't these days but I think the color combination is very appealing.

Elbow patches on sweater? Brilliant!

Nothing says Christmas like crazy Christmas socks

Well I guess I'm going to be the only one not naming her post Merry Christmas, almost all of the bloggers I follow did hehe. This wasn't the outfit I had planned to wear today, I was going to wear my green taffeta skirt but Anthropologie managed to send me my beautiful mustard skirt on time (arrived yesterday) and I had this new cardigan I bought at the Gap last month. It's better than a swim suit (believe me it's scary!) by the way it is raining today! So even though I really wanted to wear flats I ended wearing my rubber boots.
An this vintage fur is the warmest thing on the planet, I have two them I can't believe I didn't try this sooner.
I hope everyone of you beautiful ladies has a wonderful time and Feliz Navidad to all!

Getting ready for Christmas

I've been trying to maintain my sanity with a 10-yo boy who still doesn't know that I already have his Christmas present, he keeps asking whether I'm going to make my trip to the store and he promises he won't peek once the present is warpped under the tree, he already made a list, he's the funniest kid.
Everything is old except the vintage brooch which I bought at the flea market last week.
