Sunday Best: Mad men lady

Today I feel as thought I had walked out of the 50's. This skirt was one of my finds Friday, as usual it was very small on the waist and had a few tears, nothing this savvy refashionista could not fix. I forgot to take a before picture of the skirt, the wool jacket is vintage too, very warm and cozy when I bought it I knew it would look perfect belted. I am still looking for the perfect black circle skirt and the perfect grandpa cardigan, I hope I find them!
Outfit Details:
Shirt: thrifted /I added a rhinestone detail around the neckline.
Skirt: vintage/ altered by me
Belts: thrifted

A hat and simplicity

Today's outfit was feminine with a masculine twist. The cap is vintage, I bought it during the summer and finally got to wear it today. I didn't add any accessories to the outfit because I wanted it to be as simple as possible. I wore the cap because it's Drug Awareness week and today's schedule called for a hat. Tomorrow it's going to be camouflage, I still don't know how I'm going to pull that one off and Friday pijamas!

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Gap/ thrifted
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Vintage
Hat: Vintage

Sunday best: Tartan

Today's outfit is very different. I still have the grunge in me, the 90's were my teen years which I spent watching "My So Called Life" anyone remember? Today is my mom's birthday so I'm spending the day with her and taking her out to lunch. I thrifted the skirt during the summer, it's made of rayon and I immediately thought about shortening it, but I haven't made the time to refashion the small pile of clothes so I decided to pin it instead to give it an uneven look. I purposedly made the pins show since they go so well with the tartan print.
Outfit Details:
Jacket: Gap/thrifted
Tank top: Kohls (old)
Skirt: Chaussport/ thrifted & re-styled by me
Boots: DSW (old)
Sweater clip: vintage

Good boys

Can't help but notice how well dressed these guys are. Totally inspiring, if only more guys dressed like them.

Okay I admit he's just cute.

Sunday Best: Autumn Inspired

Hi ladies, hope you had a wonderful Sunday! Today after church my son and I had lunch at the Pancake House, I love greasy food: french fries, buttermilk pancakes, bacon, gravy, bisquits and all those yummy things, but I can't help to think about how all that yummy food keeps clogging up my arteries and raises my already very high cholesterol. Anyways this is what I wore to church today.

How long will you go?

I love the longer hems all over the place, seems like modest clothing are back in fashion, now if we could do something about the hats, I love to see girls wearing hats, Nina and Megan wear them all the time and they look amazing. I also love this skirt although I usuaully don't wear long skirts that often but this is one I can definitely wear throughout the Fall/Winter season.

Skirt/shoes/vest/jacket/shoes: thrifted

Giving the boot to my alarm clock

After 2 days of being late to work for waking up too late last night I decided to tweak my alarm clock, well too bad because this morning the alarm didn't go off (again) and so I was late for the third day in the week. So I went outside and it didn't dawn on me I was already late for work...
It wasn't until this picture that I finally realize that there was too much light for 7:00 a.m. I checked my clock again and it was 8:00 a.m.!! When I got to my classroom I apologized for my tardiness and bad example, this has never and won't happen again. So I'm giving my alarm clock the boot and getting a new one.

Not your usual kindergarten teacher

Had a great day at work today! And I got 2 apples! I'm deciding which one to eat first. My class is awesome, I love them to pieces. Today I introduced a puppet named Beto, it's sad how children lose their imagination at such early age, when I was a little girl there was nothing best than our imagination, climbing trees with my cousins and pretending we were in an airplane, playing with flowers and pretending they were our dolls, playing dirt and leaves pretending they were our food and tortillas. Oh how I remember those good old days.
I got a lot of stares at my shoes today from the teachers, it made me a little bit self-concious but I live in a city where the norm fashion is a Tee-shirt and jeans.
Outfit Details: 100% thrifted
Skirt: refashioned from a vintage dress

Lots of ways to wear a scarf

Heading off to work, unlike yesterday today I almost didn't get any sleep, I woke up around 2 a.m. and then tossed and turned until finally I gave up and got up very early, I've noticed that whenever I can't sleep I get very obsessive about cleaning, I made my bed, mopped the bathroom's floor and I even made my bed. I think I went to bed hungry and the smell of last night's dish made me hungrier, all I could smell was the delicious food and my stomach started to growl around 4 a.m.

Shirt: Gap/ thrifted

Fall Inspiration

The weather here is awesome, beautiful sunny days, just a bit cool in the mornings, not too much just perfect...so it really doesn't feel like Fall it feels more like the Spring we skipped (thanks a lot Summer). Anyways, I'm really looking forward to the cooler temperatures so that I can wear my coats, tights, hats and boots. Here's a few outfits that have me drooling.

I forgot some of the sources so if a picture belongs to you please let me know and I'll add your link.

Sunday Best: Victorian Inspired

Hi beautiful ladies! I'm heading off to church and I really like todays outfit. I was a little iffy about the pleated skirt, a few years ago I had a black polyester pleated skirt and then I read somewhere that women with a tummy problem should stay away from pleats, so I stopped wearing it. Back then I believed everything I read in style magazines/books. Looking at blogger's beautiful outfits changed my perspective on the things I can and want to wear. I still don't like long sleeves though and that's why I always roll them up, can't help it.
I can't say enough how much I love these Steve Madden booties, it's their 2nd year with me and I still love them to pieces.
Outfit Details:
Blouse/ Belt/ Beaded clutch: Vintage
Skirt: Talbots /thrifted
Net tights: F21
Booties: Steve Madden
