Pencil skirts vs. Full skirts

My friend at work told me I look better with pencil skirts, I know full skirts are hard to pull off, I've read that they are not very flattering for my body shape...but I love them and I can't get enough of them even if they make my hips look bigger. Pencil skirts on the other hand are hard for me to wear, every time I wear them I'm self-conscious about not having curves, a small waist to be more precise, although pencil skirts are more slimming I feel it shows off how rectangular and waist-less I am, I also have a tummy and it's hard to remember to suck it in all day.

Welcome Fall!

According to the news, this will be the worst Fall allergy season, but I've been good, I've been very good so I've been taking my medicine everyday, I'm feeling alright. I have been wanting to wear this skirt for a long time, I decided to wear it with my leopard print shoes to take away the school uniform look of it. I like the end result.

Ugh I tried to fix the lighting of the picture but it didn't work. Can't wait for Spring (hehe =P)

Thirty-two years ago it was a girl!

Today is my birthday! I got lots of love and my friends at work took me out to eat and I felt very good. There was no school for the kids but there was Faculty Development Training all day so I did have to work today. I wore my favorite heels and my favorite vintage necklace and headed off to work feeling all pretty. My mom, dad and sister called to wish me a happy birthday. My son was saddened that he didn't have money to buy me a present or throw me a birthday party, he wanted to, but my family is kind of busy, but even so it really doesn't matter, I had a great day today and I'm very blessed and thankful to God for giving me a wonderful year and just being able to wake up everyday and having my son who is my sunshine is enough.
Oooh! Guess what I think I'm 23! hehe well it was supposed to be backwards.

Favorite shirt

Hi ladies, finally Friday! I'm so happy because I'm getting so much help at work it's unbelievable, first I had too many children and too little help, now I have way too many ladies being sent my way to help (prayers being answered!), I have my first student-teacher intern (I feel important hehe) and I have a high school student coming every other day to help. The one I'm mostly excited about is my student-teacher I can tell she's got it in her, I can just feel that she's going to be a great teacher. I like people like her, she has the right attitude and she was sharp and helped me sooo much! I'm so excited to have her!
I didn't wear the hat to work, but I do love this outfit, it's my favorite shirt.

Twelve years ago...

Twelve years ago I bought this slip floral dress, it brings me lots of memories. I had not worn it in...10 years? The last time I wore it was in a Quinceanera, I was pregnant in my first tri-mester so I wasn't showing. This month I'll turn 32 and no, twenty-something-year-olds, a woman is not old at 30, 40, or 50 or any age. =)
I miss wearing my hair down and that's another thing I'm looking forward in the Fall.
