The Red Hat

Hi ladies! I'm so excited to have next week off, that's another great thing about being a teacher, vacation breaks. Today we had a little party before school ended, I think we over did it with the sugar, but I'm glad we had the party a little before school ended, by the time we were got in line the children were hyper even my quiet one was walking and dancing her way home. I think you look so beautiful. I LOVE the hat. Love it so much. And I LOVE that you keep the treasures your students give you. You are a blessing.

Mean Mrs. Davidson. I wonder what happened to her to make her so miserable. That makes me sad.

Thank you ladies, Becky as I was writing this I thought about that too, I wonder why Mrs. Davinson was so sour, I never thought of that really, maybe she had a harsh life, sometimes that's one of the excuses people make...

i love your whole outfit...so Frenchified. Mean teachers...the worst two I had were into public humiliation, not necessarily of me, but pupils in general. I told my mother and she came down to the school and spoke to both of them. Things changed after that. I hope my kids tell me about mean teachers so I can do the same for them. sorry to hear that your teacher was such a bitter person and behaved so atrociously towards you.

Your hat is so gorgeous - I'm not surprised you got compliments on it! It looks great with black and white, and I love the tie.

Thank you for sharing other thoughts and stories as well on your blog! That's an amazing thing to do to give a present to a mean teacher.
I had a gym teacher who frequently made fun of me for being somewhat clumsy. For example, she called on me to do a new exercise first in front of the class, then said: "No you all know how you should NOT do this." To be honest, I never tried to mend the situation like you did. Now I ask myself the same question as Life with Kaishon did about Mrs Davinson, but back then I was just upset.
It's amazing how you learn from your own experiences as a child now that you're a teacher yourself. I'm sure your students will appreciate it!

AGHHHH! You bought the Ophelie hat from Modcloth! I've been wanting it so, so badly!

I try my best to accept my students' gifts with love and true appreciation. Apples, oranges, grapes (many of my students' parents are farm workers, so I get tonnnns of fruit when it's in season!), dandelions they pick at recess, drawings (I post every one of them on my board, and letters (I write them back and use my special stationary).

Teaching is not for the fainthearted. Social work taught me that these kids go through so much at home; they definitely need love when they come to school!

Ok. I'm off to buy that ModCloth hat...if they still have it. LOL
