Add length to a short skirt

Beautiful ladies this is not the tutorial I had planned, but it is what I did tonight (I'm planning on wearing this awesome skirt tomorrow). I will do the other tutorial by tomorrow or Saturday because I will need it for Sunday's outfit.
I thrifted this skirt today and it just stole my heart...yeap, and then I remembered I have one similar to this already, only this is a full skirt and what I have is an A-line skirt.
I had this wonderful crochet trim from this skirt I thrifted last week remember?
Well to make my skirt a bit different and add a touch of romantic I added the crochet trim. You can do this with dresses and skirts, even if you don't need a longer skirt it looks very nice, almost like if you were wearing a vintage slip underneath you can use regular lace.
So here is my crochet trim...(the colors are a bit off because I did this at night).
Pin trim to the inside of the skirt...
Sew and voila! A beautiful new look!

Hi, I've never commented but I've been following your blog for a while. I absolutely love your clothes! I can't believe how you find such amazing things for $2 or $4....I really wish we could go thrift store shopping together haha.

I'm originally from Fort Worth as well. I lived there for 16 years until my family and I moved to Arizona two years ago. Reading your blog is good for me when I feel nostalgic for my hometown! :) We went to church in Southlake...at Gateway People, pastored by Robert Morris.

Haha, well anyways I'm rambling now. All I want to say is keep up the good work! Your blog is one I look forward to reading everyday!

Oh thank you ladies!

Rubi it's wonderfil that you decided to comment, yes I live in the South side of FW, I hope one day you come to visit soon. =)

La Toya I liked the rodeo skirt before but I'm guessing it was a first time skirt because it's not all that well done, and you know when a garment is not well sewn it wrinkles here and there and doesn't fit properly, I still have the skirt and hopefully I can work on it and make it wearable. =D

This is great. Is it best to use a sewing machine? Or can you do this by hand?
