Today is a great day! Today's outfit is green, not only in color but the fabric is recycled, it was an 80's dress with a big bow in the back and black velvet on the top and of course big, puffy sleeves. I liked the forest green fabric, I had seen a blue skirt with this type of fabric at J. Crew some time ago and I really liked it but of course I couldn't afford it, so I made my skirt. I also wore my crazy hat and to tone the outfit down I wore simple velvet flats and a white crisp shirt.
Outfit Details: everything thrifted except hat
Skirt: made by me from 80's dress
Shirt: Express Design Studio
Velvet flats: Michelle D

I am really envious of that green skirt! It's a gorgeous color and the sheen is just perfection!

Thank you ladies for your comments =)
I love the skirt! Is it taffeta? I can completely imagine that having been some bridesmaid dress in the 80s!
But now, it's completely contemporary.

Green is a fabulous color on you!
Very cute skirt! I bet it would be nice for holiday parties come December :)
Hi! I'm new to the blog. :) I like a lot of your vintage inspired looks. The green skirt outfit is such a pretty church outfit! It's so classy and lady-like!

Thank you! Yes Brianna I agree with you on being great for December I think I'll wear it again then. =)
Oh and Lyddie is it Taffeta I forgot what it was called hehee
oh,a very pretty and simple combination. This skirt length is just perfect,I am looking for those more often now. It's better when you don't wear tights.
Sometimes you wear petticoats underneath but if not,is there somethings else?You once wore a white,old panty.I am wearing a shorty under my skirts now that I HAVE to go outside without tights as it's real hot.So I'm looking for inspiration and other things I could wear underneath to prevent embarrassing moments like when the wind blows my skirt up. (;
I love the green and the hat! I wore a hat like that last night to church. I'm hoping to get the pictures up on my blog, but I'm always so petrified of posting picture of myself!

I love the skirt you made! My lovely sister-in-law just gave me two of her old prom/choir dresses and I'm trying to do the same thing to them!
Heather Feather thank you, this skirts are very easy to make and old prom dresses are the best type to refashion!
Chandra I would love to see how you look in your hat, mine had feathers but I cut them off, they stuck up and made the hat look like too much of a birds nest.
Lovely green satin fabric indeed! Although, I liked the idea of those puffy sleeves!! Ah, I'm sure the dress looked gorgeous, but I trust your judgment. It was probably better off being a skirt.
I also like your hat. What a nice twist! Lovely!
What material is this skirt?
it's taffeta =)
