Sunday the best day of the week

Sunday is the best day of the week for me. First, I can get dressed up to go to church. I love getting dressed up for church. Today I woke up kind of late, picked different jackets to wear with my outfit but none seemed to fit right, I really wanted to wear the little vintage bolero jacket but I needed a less flowy shirt and I wanted to wear THIS shirt so I opted for a cardigan I recently thrifted, this was a great option since I could pin it closed with the beautiful vintage cameo pin I thrifted yesterday, and then I added a black ribbon that I usually wear on my hair, and I think it added a nice french touch to my outfit.
This is my outfit for today...
Outfit details:
Shirt: thrifted
Skirt: merona (target)
Patterned tights: Kohl's
Lace slip over skirt: Victorias Secret (shortened by me and thrifted)
Thick knit cardigan: thrifted
Vintage cameo pin: Avon (thrifted)
Quilted purse: vintage & thrifted
Vintage booties: Larry Stuart II Collection (thrifted)

I love your outfit, the lace slip is so pretty, I like that you decided to wear it over your skirt.

My church has a very laid back dress code. Most younger people wear jeans and hoodies. I really like to get dressed up though, I think there is still something to looking nice when going to church!

What a beautiful outfit - so simple but elegant! I am not a church-goer myself (long story), but really appreciate the effort you put in for dressing up for church. To me, dressing up to go to the theatre or a concert for example, is all about showing my appreciation, it is about celebrating a special occasion. Like you said, not that people have to, but for some people dressing up is just another way of saying "this is special to me". It is the process of appreciation and dressing up that counts, not the appearance.
